Purpose of CUPID

The mission of this summer fellowship is to promote the discipline of Oncology among medical students interested in caring for, or understanding, the needs of under privileged, indigent, or disadvantaged people.

Most commonly racial/ethnic minorities are associated with these demographics but this is a narrow view. Certain populations who are not classically considered minorities also fit this demographic profile, e.g. Appalachian people.

We propose an 8-week summer fellowship for 6 medical students interested in the health care of the historically underserved and disadvantaged. The students will undergo a formal application process and if selected will receive housing, a stipend to cover meals, and great education experience.

Eligibility

All first year students are invited to apply.  Second year students may apply if they are able to commit to the full 8-week program period.

Program dates cannot be changed
